Default T-150 tranny question

I relaced my transmission today with a used one that I already had. But before I bolted it up I wanted to change the gear oil in it. I bought 4 quarts of 85wt and proceeded with the change. The old oil was really black but no water was in it here's my question... what is the fill capicity of this transmission? I didn't even get 2 full quarts in it and it was running out of the hole on the side like crazy.

The '78 FSM says it's 2 3/4 pints. That's a little less that a quart and a half, but you're a girl - you know that stuff.

Just add to the, always growing, list of things to do - check the oil level in the transmission after it is installed. It might be tilted a little differently than you had it when changing the oil. In fact, double check all of the fluid levels before firing up that engine the first time. It is much easier to check them than repair the problems that come from not checking them.
