Pat there are not very many CJ-5's out there these days. I wish you luck and hope that you find one and bring it out to wheel.

Maybe another TJ ?

I'll ask Rick, he lives in Green Bay and always knows of something for sale.

It took me about 18 months to locate a CJ-5. I looked on Jeepbrokers.com, Craigslist, CollectorCarTrader.com, Jeepclassified.com. I finally found an 80 CJ-5 in Windsor Co for a decent price. They are out there but you just have to dig and dig. Also depends on what year and how far you are willing to travel. Also make sure you get mucho snaps before you commit or travel. I had a couple in Arkansas lined up but when the snaps came in the undercarriage was pretty bad..but I suspect you already know how to buy a Jeep.

Happy Trails and good hunting

Yep... you remember correctly. That was me.. .and I'll stand by the statement. Never buy the introduction year of anything. Usually there's lots and lots of bugs in that production year. These bugs are fixed as they come to light in the marketplace and are retooled over the next few model years.

I just test drove a CJ5 with a 350 in it up at Silver Lake, Michigan. The motor has 5500 miles on it and the tranny has 2500. They want 7000 for it and it is at the Sandy Korners Jeep Rental place in Silver Lake. Body is yellow. It looks pretty sharp. I would be interested, but i will be buying a CJ7 when me 07 lease is up.
