The control arms - they replaced the entire arms? They must have been bent. They bend pretty easy. You can tell if they are - go under and look. They are a channel, you can see any distortion. Once they get distorted, they'll never work right.
Else it was the bushings - available at parts houses - need to be pressed in.
If the arms are bent, check Ebay - lots of them are available for cheap - taken off when someone lifts theirs - $50-100? a set. I have a whole stack of them from doing suspension conversions, both short and long arms.
Steering damper - best is the Rancho HD - better than OEM. About $100.
Yes, it's labor intensive, but well worth the effort.
