Question AMC 20 axle question

I have a set of 1 piece shafts for an AMC 20,....i think narrow track.

are the shafts supposed to be equal lengths? mine are not....they were free with Nicks jeep...I was going to resell them if they are correct.

thanks!

Narrow / Wide = different lengths.

Right / Left = different lenghts.

Geeezeee Greg....

Even though the AMC20 pinion is in the center (maybe not all).... The spider gears are not.... And so there is a left and a right axle shaft, they cannot be the same length.

So ???? Where is the question here ????

thats not the problem.... i realize that axles can have dif lengths. I've never opened an AMC 20 and i haven't had one since HS....so my first question was to see if it was normal to have an offset....Check, thats fine.

Now I'm trying to verify IF they are AMC 20 axles to begin with.....and if so, are they a correct set.....

when you get stuff just piled in a jeep that comes with the jeep....its hard to know if i have one axle from a wide track and an other from a narrow.....

the lengths I found don't match what I'm measuring. the bolt pattern and splines are correct.....just the lengths i can't confirm anywhere

I want to get rid of these axles...but i don't want to advertise them as a set of narrow track 1 piece axles unless thats actually what they are.

I had the wide trac in the scrambler and it was offset. I have a set of one piece shafts in the shop I will measure for you if want.. How are you measuring the shafts? are you going from the very end of the splines to the bearing stop or out to the flange???
