Default wiring a TJ to be towed

Anyone know of a way to use the stock wiring and tail lights as tow light when towing said jeep?
in other words...
I want to plug my tj into my tow rigs trailer harness and have my tjs lights act as trailer lights. I drater not add a second set of lights to the back of the jeep. Any ideas

On late CJs the rear harness plugs to the main harness just in front of the driver's door. Unplug it and plug it your tow vehicle lights with a made-up jumper cable.

Or you can wire in a harness at the front of the Jeep and leave it permanently connected, but it takes some diodes to isolate the flasher circuits. A schematic was posted about a year ago. Try the search function.

Or for a few bucks you can buy a set of trailer lights with magnetic mounts. Then you can easily set up to tow anyting.

I've used these for years with great success. Very easy to use, and they have come in very handy for a lot of other things besides towing the Jeep.

Wal-Mart has 'em for about $50.
