Question PAINT....factory color....4wd catalog ?

flipping through the latest 4wd catalogs i spotted a Cj-6 sporting a tan paint color and a black top.

this is the color i wanted to go for....i think its a factory color choice for early cj6's

does anyone know if thats a factory paint color?....and if so, where can i find the paint code so that i can get similar paint?

Try looking here....

Jeep CJ Paint Codes (1976-86)

I have some other links, that's just the first one to pop into mind.

my '6 is a 1975 vintage

the paint codes show up for '76-78

not sure if thats an original for 75..but really im not too worried about it....

i'm thinking tan body, with a shiney black grill, black soft top......and the steel hard top will have a black top and tan sides.

accessories such as bumpers etc will be black also....

i have a line on a used welder from a jeep guy at work which might atually get me started on the body work

Hey Greg,

I didn't find as much detail as expected...

Would suggest that if you really want to drill down on paint codes and trim that you check out Early CJ5

They have a Forum with topics for CJ-6 both early and in your case late (all in the perspective). Would bet that someone has already been there and done that, likely had to make the T-Shirt.

Ya have to start somewhere... That's my suggestion.
