Default Comanche

Hi

I'm looking at picking up a 79-80 Jeep Comanche...wait...maybe I mean Commando...mainly for the engine with 65K on it...

What else might (I emphasize might as I don't really have a lot of details about it) be on it that may be useful for my 85 CJ7?

Thanks,
Patrick

Commanche was built from 1986 until 1992.. Commando/Jeepster from 1966 til 1973 (Might be off a year or two on those). Niether was offered in 1979 or 1980 though of that I am certain. Might it be a Cherokee?

Here is a timeline I found after I wrote the post that may tell you a little more about what it is you might have found... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeepster

The late model 3/4-size pickup was called Commanche. The earlier full-size pickups were called Gladiator and later J10 for the 1/2-ton and J20 for the 3/4-ton.

Hi

So...I'm slowly getting more info...I know it has the 258 in it...I know it has 58,000 miles on it...I know the body is rusted out...I know it will cost me $600

If it's a 79/80 Cherokee, what else might I be able to use on my CJ7 (85 CJ7 with AMC20 rear and 2.73 gears...)? What might I be able to sell to re-coup costs?

If it's a 79/80 J10, what else might I be able to use on my CJ7? What might I be able to sell to re-coup costs?

Thanks for helping me guess!!

Thanks!
Patrick

Hi

Okay...finally got to look at it/pick it up today...Sucks getting info 4th hand...

A 1973 Jeep Commando...C104...with the 258 in it...

I'm using the engine for sure...anybody know if I might be able to use anything else on my 802/85 CJ7?

What might I be able to sell to make some money back?

Would I be better off just putting my old motor in it and selling it as a running vehicle...disclosing everything of course...?

Thanks!!

What tranny does it have, auto or manual, in what condition? What condition is the transfer case? The rear end could possibly have value also.

You could contact one of the few guys that sell parted out Jeepster/Commandos to discuss selling your remnants to them. Welcome to Jeepster Parts

Good luck
