Default I need quick help with a soft top install

Just recieved my new "bestop Sailcloth" top today and am trying to install it. the last two screws that go on the under edge of the front corners (the first two screws that you remove to take the old top off)...one side was pre cut (punched) for the screw, the other side has the hole but there are two problems. 1. the hole is on the stiched seam, and 2. the hole only goes through the outer layer.
Any Ideas becides waiting untill morrning to finish the install after calling bestop. BTW there is no "general questions" on there web sight that might answer common questions like this.
I am wondering about heating an awl and pushing a hole in (a nail would probibly work). But just a bit shaky on putting a hole in a new top.

I would call best top in the morning something don't sound right, and if it is wrong complain like there's no tomorrow and maybe you'll get some of your money back.
