Default the HELP SAVE JERRY fund..........................

For anyone who is interested....

I have Jerry's, MarineOpLaw, current address now....and I'm taking a collection to help him out. PM me for my mailing address if you want, i can pass anything along you want, or you can leave it anonymous....

OR

if you prefer, board members can PM me and I'll send you his addy directly and you can do what you can....

OR

you could prolly Paypal him....at whatever email he posted earlier in his post....though he should confirm thats OK before people do that.....

we've helped people out from here before, and i'd like to see it happen again....

so ebay off that garbage in your garage.....lift up those couch cushions for loose change ....see what you can do.

Great idea Greg. I just want to make sure you cleared it with him about giving out his address.
I'm sure we can help at least some with the great group we have.

I agree with Dave.
It might be best if we all send our help to you and then you can forward it on down to him.
It might slow the flow a little, but it might be the best way.
Thanks a lot for doing this, Greg.
PM me your address, please.

he sent me the address knowing it would be to give him a hand......i didn't ask particularly about giving it to others though....

I will use my judgment and not give it to someone who has a total of 1 post or anything like that.....hopefully that isnt a problem.

i think anything anyone can give would be good....even if its just 5 bucks.

I saw my dad go through something like this with his 2nd wife (not my mom), so i know what kinds of trouble $hitty women can cause otherwise decent men....and i'm a firm believer that Jerry is a good man.... and i believe in always trying to give someone a hand.....cuz ya never know who might need one later (you or me maybe?)!

I'll gladly share responsibility (of gathering/receiveing funds and sending them to jerry) with an other established member of the board...to help make the effort a little more transparent w/o giving away any anonymous gifts.

Do we want to deal with cash, etc or should we set up a save Jerry and his boys paypal fund?

We did this for one of the guys on a LE board who got run over on his motor at work. Everyone just sent paypal to a dedicated account then whoever set it up got it all together and gave it to him.

Good job setting this up, Greg. Thanks!

Jerry, Dave cleaned out the For-Sale thread. Get your listing back up there.

Good luck!

I've gotten a few so far....

so thank you and keep 'em coming....

also, please write me a note if you want your name included or if you prefer to remain anonymous. I'm not going to disclose the amounts of donation for the reasons that 1)i dont want jerry to feel he should repay anyone 2) a 20$ gift from one person may be a bigger sacrifice for them than an other persons gift of 200$

I've gotten a few on pay pal, and another few on the way in the snail mail.....one of the paypals i have no idea who it is....since people dont always have real names on here......so let me know...

thanks

How much does PayPal take for their cut?
It would be a lot easier this way, but if too much goes from Jerry's pocket to their's I'll stick with USPS.
Isn't it 10%?

Do you think there's any chance that you could contact them, explain what you're doing, and maybe get a commission discount?
I know it's a long long long shot, but you never know.

Thanks again for doing this, Greg.

They don't take a commission unless it reaches a certain limit. Don't remember what the restriction is, but we should be o.k.
