Default SM420 tranny problems??

Hey guys, it seems this just suddenly started to be an issue. Tranny was rebuilt a couple years ago (8,000 miles ago) and a few problems seemed to appear all at once:
- Doesn't easily go into second gear at a stop.
- Doesn't shift to third or forth without some grinding unless I double clutch (up or down shifts).
- When decelerating in third gear it makes a nasty noise almost a grinding.

Any ideas? I thought these things were bulletproof?

If it's grinding I'd look at the Synchros:

I am thinking, Did the weather turn colder all of a sudden ?
have you driven it in cold weather before ?
What kind of gear lube do you have in it, if any ?

My Toyota pick up gets the same way when the weather turns cooler, and I am in Flori-Duh...And I know Montanna gets a bit COOOOLer than that.

I have never had a problem in the cold over the last few years, but if I wasn't running 75w-90 synthetic I think I would notice the cold weather more.

I called up M.I.T. Transmition Specialists in CA on Friday, that is who I bought the rebuilt unit from. Andy was very helpful and he said synchro's also but he was thinking with all the symptoms I was explaining it might be something else. Andy thought maybe the nut holding the main shaft in place could have backed off some, and that sounded a little more probable to him considering my low miles.

I'll have to take off the D20 to find out but I need to make a better crossmember and do RRich's clutch cure anyways so why not?

Thanks for all the help (especially the manual) I'll update what I find!
