Think outside the box.
What you really love to do? Not necessarily what you've always done.
Once you find that - go for it. If you really love it you'll rise to the top fast anyway.
We spend a great deal of our waking hours working, might as well do something you really enjoy.

I fired a saleman once - for incompetance. He took a "temporary" job at a Denny's --- loved it. Soon became manager. Within a year he opened his own place. Last I heard he owned several and was super happy - and becoming wealthy.
Had another salesman quit - went into real estate -- is now one of the top.
I went to college for electronics - got out in the industry -- absolutely hated it. Changed careers a few times -- found my place - loved it. You can tell you love it when you say "damn, it's the weekend and I can't go to work."

Don't just "accept" a job because they'll hire you. Don't stay at one you hate --- life's too short!!!!!!!!!!!

RRich, this is an excellent idea... However, if he can figure out how yelling and cussing can pay bills, he's still out of luck. This seems to be his real talent. Can humans get a job as sandpaper? He's plenty abrasive.. We're talking 30 grit here....

If money wasn't an issue, I would get a low paying job at another Autoparts Store so I could get those killer discounts again. I had a part time job at the local O'Rielly's and spent four times the amount there that I made in a years time!!! They probably wouldn't take me back because they would know I was there to support my hobbies .

Gee,
I know the feeling. I got let go/downsized, whatever about four weeks ago.

I know a couple of guys that have become independent consultants and seem to like it pretty well. They work as much as they want and set their own schedule and pay rate.

If I knew enough about anything I'd give it a try.

That's the truth - that's why I was so good at handling contracts. There was a company that, for a while, contracted me just to axe some of their vendors that were in a bit of trouble.

I've been told that there are places for people like me in larger companies as "strong arms" (or a$$h0le'$). Just don't know what the positions are called.
