I'm pretty sure the first individual that ever told me about a diesel Jeep was a fellow that had a 304 with NO2 bottle rigged up in a old CJ that ran the power line roads in southern Indiana many years ago. It was a dual feed system to supply both the driver and the motor... But he did love his Jeep (and one that was on the farm he grew up on).

Greg how do you find these things? You just are not that old.

i read it at work, i work with Caterpillar Diesels...so the place is chock full of diesel knowledge... that was hanging up on one of the walls by the copy machine....

there was also an article on the LeMans car that was powered by a Cat. Diesel...gues it got much better milage, could do 16 laps on a tank instead of 12.....but the tranny blew up, and had to bail from the race.....it was predicted to have finished in the top 15....from a a start in position 40-something.......i dont know much about racing but that sounds pretty good
