Default bleeding brakes, master cylinder help.

Hi,

Well the brakes on my jeep have never been safe. I put some new lines on and bleed them for about 3 hrs today. got them pretty good but still not right. turns out air was getting into the system where the master cylinder bolts to the brake booster. Is there suppose to be a gasket here? Since I could just here and see air leaking in I assume my master cylinder is fine. Will a bunch of RTV seal do the trick? And once I get it back on can I just bleed the brakes like normal or is there a procedure to bleed the master cylinder? thanks for your help!!!

Mike

I just replaced my master cylinder cause of a leak between it and the booster. If air is getting in there, I would say its time to replace it. There is no gasket. A replacement MC is like $30. And you do have to bench bleed it. My MC came with the tubing to bleed it in a vice.
