Default Tires at Wal-mart look like cut super swamper $115

I saw a set of tires at wal-mart that looked like TSL super Swamper that have the center lug cut. I asked who made them, but the guy I talked to did not know anything. The tires are radial and come in a few sizes,31,32?,33,35,the 33x12.5 is $115.00 and the 35x12.5 is $118.00. The tires say Super Sport HP on them. If you have a chance to look at them, let us know what you think about them.

I have had the 33" version since november 1999 on my jeep. For they price, I have been very happy with them. I'm pretty sure my next set of tires will be their 35".

I checked into these recently, and there are some differences in construction... mainly sidewall strength. Swampers are 4-ply, Super Sport HTs are 2-ply on the sidewall. Whether or not this suits you depends upon your driving style, and of course I won't presume to judge that.

That's the tire I was looking at. I just wanted to know if anyboby had seen them. I am gled to hear that you like them. I think for the price it would be ok. I still want super swampers, but if I had to put a lot of miles on the road I would get some of those tires.

Here's the same tire from Big O out west. I've been told they are made by Kelly. http://www.bigotires.com/TireDetail....e=11&bid=1

I got some Uniroyal Laredo M/T's and really liked them on my CJ7 from Wal-Mart. They were inexpensive and cheap to replace if I sliced the sidewall. They performed very well and looked better than those tires. They were also quiet on the highway.

Two thoughts:

1.) There is nothing wrong with the Wal-Mart tires but . . . for roughly the same price you could get a set of Super Swamper Trxus MTs. They look a little better and should work a little better and maybe even last longer.

2.) If you go with the Uniroyals by them at Sam's Club, you have to pay $10/tire for mounting and balancing but you get free lifetime flat and hazard repair. My brother got a free Grabber MT after gashing the sidewall two weeks after he bought them.

Again, these are merely thoughts!

A few years ago I read that the uniroyal laredo mt was one of the only mud tires ever designed to pull in the mud. They said that it was the only one other than the super swamper to pull in the mud. I have seen the low price's. I agree that neither set will work as good the tsl super swamper. How many miles can you get from a set of Uniroyal Laredo MT?
