YJ - Hard starting problems.

Every time I try to start my YJ, it will crank but won't actually fire and start running unless I do the following:

1) Pump the gas pedal a few times to "prime" the engine.
2) Push and hold the gas pedal to the floor while starting the engine after I've primed it.

If I don't give it some gas before I try to start it...it'll just sit there and crank and crank and crank. [img]images/graemlins/cussing.gif[/img]

I had my carburetor completely apart this weekend because I had to rebuild it again after getting some dirt/mud in the air horn which was clogging both idle tubes.
Everything works flawlessly except for the starting issue.

Any ideas on where to start chasing my newest problem down at?

What Carb are you running? if its the Carter with the mechanical link choke you are supposed to pump once then half gas with starter...It really likes that first little prime of gas.
