Default Original color of engine paint
Which one of the many AMC blue colors is original for an 85 CJ7? I just painted the engine in my 73 commando AMC Blue (supplied from Eastwood) but sources say the AMC Blue color changed in 74. Would the paint used in 85 be the same color as used in 74? Anyone have a good source for the AMC blue I am needing?

sorry i dont have a clue where to get the oringinal paint.. but its different.. your older one is a greenish blue.. aqua color.. while the 85 will be more of a light blue... not much help..

Not sure of the exact color, but Krylon Pontiac Blue matched my 74 304 exactly. Course, I'm not entirely sure that what I matched WAS the original color! Still, it looks right to my eyes.
