I put a box blade on the back of our tractor and reversed into their lodge, pushing it over and forced them all out. Then I stood on the dam with a rifle and waited for them to surface, when they do the warning slap with their tail, and shot them in the head. Then I sent my lab out to retrieve them. I donated the pelts to a Native American Exibit at a museum. It worked pretty well, I would have used traps if I was not so impatient.

Here is what I have done to get rid of groundhogs under a barn. Take a can of Red Devil Lye and pore it in their holes. When the varmit walks through some will stick on his feet. His feet will get irritated and he will lick his feet. It is not the best death I'm sure, but dead is dead. Do beavers have holes that are not under the water? I don't think this method would work if the hole was under water.

For best varmit control methods, rent Caddy-Shack (the original is best). I look at it as a personal guide for how to deal with "Viet-Varmits" or the wiley "Varmit-Cong".

Bill Murray cracks me up in that movie!!!

Nice idea with caddy shack.

Anyhow, Went out there today and he piled sticks up on the traps we had set.

Today we also shined a 2million candle power spot light. It appear out of the main cooridors this guy has 3 separate hallways. Each goin past 10 feet in to the heart of the dam. The red lye idea sounds pretty good, but does it put off a smell that he will reject?

Now that the ground in frozen just caving in his huge mansion is not an option.

Keep the ideas comming. Thanks.

Always thought the easiest way to never see a beaver again was to marry it............

If he is pilling sticks on them set the trap a little more sensitive. Also try putting one in front of his hole. and on slides where he is coming out of the water. Catchnig stick is real tipical you just haft to catch him right.

Remember thier very very stupid even a dumb monkey can catch em. hell I can!

Red lye might work to if you put it in front of his hole he'll haft to walk through it.

no really they are that stupid

87Warrior-

Having been whipped by every beaver I've ever encountered I don't profess to be able to help you. Just thought I'd share the experience of another beaver plauged unfortunate. It's not too long a read.

The hole under water in blocked off by a good 4 feet by 6 feet wall of big rocks. So he is not getting out of his main hole. Since there is multipule holes i suspect he is getting his food and sticks else wear. Also the sticks were not wet or mud packed. They were put in the part of his hole where it is not exposed to water. Since there were not foot prints or tail markings on the hot bed of coals in front of his hole i would suspect he has a stash of wood in the back. We cut a hole verticaly in the dry part of his hole and can see where he is active at, and that is where the traps were set. any other suggestions
