Default transfer cases

if I understand correctly the the wrangler t case, and cj t case have the same bolt pattern, if this is correct, the 231 in the wrangler is a direct swap for the 241in a full size newer ram,it seems if this is all to good to be true, a newer ram engine and tranny should bolt right up to the dana 300 in my cj, I have seen several wrecked rams and dakotas in some salvage yard magazines that are available for parting out, I would love to hear some pros and cons on this idea

I know the dodge nv4500 5 speed everyone want bolts to the 300 so if they came stock with the same t-case your talking about then it would stand to reason that it would bolt up. I also know a 727 will bolt to the dana 300.

the only problem with that is that wranglers & CJ have the transfer case drop on different sides so you might run into some driveshaft issues
