| | Army Tires... Knowledge?
Hey, does anyone know the measurements of the army tires with a tread pattern shaped like this? I want to get some of these and mount them to some 1/2" steel plate (like the swamp buggies).

Yep they are 11.00 x 16 for a flattie(M38) and 11.00 x 20 and 9.00 x 20 for a deuce and a half. I'm sure there are other sizes too.

Thanks for the response, do you know of the rim size? They seem a bit taller than 20", is that the rim? I found a set in the local yard today, just wondering what kind of rim/steel plate I would need to mount them to 3/4 ton axels.

Just to make sure we are talking of the same tires, they look like:
I mainly need the tire height/rim height (in inches please) and there are 9" and 11" wide series, right?

The first number should be the width in inches and the second should be the rim size in inches. If your building a mud racer there has got to be better tires out there than an aincient set of NDT's.

It probably wont be much of a racer, but more of a fun mud truck. If they are cheap, they will be good until a set of swamper boggers comes my way and I have money.

According to Jeepn on the SWB board, NDT tires suck on the trail and in the mud. Take it for what it's worth.

The typical size for Jeeps was 7 x 16. I have some from an old Willys I had.
