Default 1988 Jeep Camanchee Pickup Truck

Could anyone tell me if it is possible to interchange a six cylinder inline engine for a four cylinder engine in a 1988 Jeep Camanchee Pickup Truck.

Yes, the Jeep 4.0 I-6 engine would fit. It should bolt up to the existing transmission

Thank you for your reply. I asked the question for my father who is thinking of replacing his four cylinder engine, and could find no resources to tell him if it was possible or not. I appreciate your help.

I also agree that it will bolt up but you might need to play with the wiring harness or computer. The are differant if I remember correctly. Later, Andy 89XJ 4.0 5-speed
