Default Cost to Fix Parking Brake on a 94 ZJ?

I am looking at buying a 94 Grand Cherokee but it's emergency brake does not work. It will not even hold the Grand at idle in 4H. I am looking for fixes/cost before I make an offer.

Thanks in advance.

If there is an adjusting nut at the equalizer bar the fix is free and will take about 5 minutes.

If you have any experience mechanically, you shold be able to fix it. E-brakes are easy. Look at the cable and see if it makes it all the way back to the rear brakes. If it makes it there, then it might need a cable to the brake mechanism. If new rear brakes were put on recently, then they might not have adjusted the e-brake to squeeze when applied.

You can do it yourself for free, and it's easy if you uderstand brakes somewhat. If not, I'd bet the shops would charge you more than you would pay for because they might think you have no clue how easy it was for them to fix it.
