Default When warmed up ZJ struggles to stay running

I can start my j94 ZJ 5.2L in the morning fine, let it sit while I'm at work and it runs fine when I leave for lunch. When I go to leave home to go back to work it will idle real low around 500RPM or lower. Runs fine when I go to leave work. I went out today to do some running and since the motor stayed warm, every time I started it, it would try to stall, give it a little gas and it would idle low but run ok. Towards the end of the running it was idling so low it was shaking while trying to stay running without giving it gas. It was sitting for around 3 weeks till I could fix my Neutral Safety Switch and now it seems to run like crap.

Anyone have any ideas where to start looking to resolve this?

Hey man, i got a similar problem with my 94 zj with the 4.0 though, when mine warms up it back fires and after a few minutes of backfirin it don't wanna stay runnin, it started with two problems, my cat guts clogged my muffler so i cut it off an ran it out the side, then found burnt O2 sensor wires, commen thing i've read about happening, i replaced my O2 and map sensor and cleared my computer, i don't know if my spark plugs would be the problem now though? from the backfiring?
What i would recommend for you, cuz my buddy has the same problem with his with the 5.2 is to have the computer checked out,

If you have an EGR valve ..manipulate the vacuum to it when cold. It should effect it. If it doesn't, that may be your problem.

Check your fuel preasure!A failing fuel pump will cause this also.

Your battery voltage is low. You lost all long term memories, idle adaptives, fuel adaptives, purge etc. Chances are if you drive your Jeep for a couple of miles, it will be fine, until you start it the next time (when the draw on the starter drops the battery voltage below 9.6v) and you loose your adaptives again. Charge or replace the battery.

If it sat for a few weeks, with the sh!tty gas they sell nowadays, it is very possible you have a plugged or fouled injector. You could try pulling the plug wires one at a time and see if you find one that dosn't alter how it runs or causes the least change in the way it runs and that will most likely be the culprit injector. You could either have a service shop run some injector cleaner thru them, replace them all (expensive) or you could just try running some fuel injector cleaner thru the tank for the next 3 or 4 tanks of fuel and see if the problem clears up. I also agree it could be TPS or low voltage, but the voltage thing you should be able to tell by the battery gauge when you first get in and try to start it, if you had low voltage it would crank slowly and you would have noticed that I would think. Good luck and please respond letting us know what you figure out.
