Question Jeep Cherokee AW4 trans questions

I have a '89 cherokee 4.0L with the dam B10a 5spd. I was thinking of finding a newer cherokee (90-94ish) with the AW4 trany and just swaping lift and offroad type parts to it. My offroading ussually consists of trails, some light-medium rock crawling, and very little mud bogging. My question are:

If I plan on doing 8" left and 35s and maybe builing the engine a bit will the AW4 auto trans hold up to the abuse?

I know of the TPS senser issues that can cause the AW4 to shift weird, but is there any other short commings to this transmission?

Should I look at swaping to a 700R4 or something simmular?

I've just done a lot of research on the AW4 since i was considering a swap and have one on hand in a donor vehicle. It will most definatley hold up to any 4.0 abuse. It was factory placed behind some v8's and some rice burners high rpm sport engines. The only drawbacks i found talked about were cooling and the TCM....which if you get the 91-92 models that had a seperate TCM not reliant on the PCM from the engine then no worries. At the same time those same models were not lock up models, but can be converted to lock up if needed.
