Default Brakes

I go to college at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and I start my Cherokee after a cold day and I had no power brakes. The brakes would only engage when I pushed the pedal to the floor. The next day, the brakes worked fine. Any Ideas?

Sounds like an air bubble to me. Did you check the fluid level?

Yeah, the level was fine. I also check it the next morning after the brakes worked and it was at the same level. I was thinking air bubble, but my mom and dad were thinking that maybe a vacuum line may have wiggled loose and caused the lack of power brakes. Also, I don't know if I mentioned this in the first thread, but the BRAKE light was one, like the parking brake was still engaged, when it was fully disengaged. Would this be a warning light?

Thanks

Yes. It means one of the circuits has no pressure because of low level, air or a leak.

It could be sticking rear brakes too. I manually adjust my rear brakes when I get a rig. Could be the fluid is so cold that the seals in the master bypass till it warms up.

Me and dad tore the Jeep apart tonight and blew all the brakes, found out that the drivers side rear wheel seal (or something like that, I can't think of the name right now). That caused the rear wheel to leak like crazy, causing air in the lines, and the fluid to go down. After I fix it tomorrow, I'm hoping the light will stay off for good.

I think they are called cups. I need to take the rear cilinders apart once a year and clean everything to keep it functioning properly.
