Default SBC 350 Cherokee Swap?

Hey guys, I have been kicking around the idea of swapping in a early 90s chevy SBC into my Jeep Cherokee. I wanted to keep the fuel injection. I was thinking of a TBI 350 or 305 or even a Vortec motor.

I looked over at Novak and Advance Adapters and they have most of the swap stuff as far as fitment, but I was wondering about the wiring.

Does anybody have any info on this type of conversion or wiring needs et cetera. Thanks guys

It's not impossible. . . It's been done thousands of times over in wranglers replacing the same drivetrain. Just keep all the original sensors to the 4.0 for oil pressure, temp, etc and your guages should hook up. Autozone.com is a really good resource for engine wiring schematics if you're making a new custom harness. It's time consuming but just go through and label all the wires to the original chevy harness and decide which wires are necessary. In my opinion if this is your first time with hooking up a non-native fuel injection you might want to go with throttle body injection. I understand if that's not your thing but it is by far the easiest. Other options are painless wiring sells several wiring kits for all types of fuel injection, so does Howell performance. Howell will even burn a new chip for the computer (does tend to get a bit pricey though). Good luck and have fun.
