Default Tires On-Road Cherokee

Hey people, I have a 2001 Cherokee and was wondering about available on-road tires. For two years I've been sliding around on the road's slightest bit of moisture or foliage like I'm on ice or still have my offroad tires on. I was wondering what would be a good road tire to purchase for the vehicle and I am not just considering a rain tire. I also would like a lighter tred or more low profile for traction in dry conditions. A rain tire usually solves the issue in the rain but i would also like something that doesn't make my steering float or bounce on dry pavement as much. I have a pick up also but I cant use it for much other than hauling and got some spare cherokee wheels.

I've been using Big O Bigfoot AT as my on road tires for years on my trucks, currently have them on my F-350, my husband's GMS truck, and as a daily set for my Grand Cherokee, they are 265s, on Limited edition stock 16" rims (for off-roading there is a set of 305 Mickey Thompson's over steelies). I have been very happy with Bigfoot performance, in particular in snow and wet conditions (I take my truck up north to Utah/ Montana for snowmobiling and snowboarding, excellent snow traction even with 30' enclosed trailer behind it in severe mountain storm). Jeep has been through monsoon rain storms and general wet conditions, the same good experience. They grip very well on rocky, gravel and paved roads. Good high speed stability. Available in load rate E for my SuperDuty. Pretty popular too.
Also, the great part of Big O's is that if you punch unrepearable hole such as side wall damage done by rocks, glass, metal or big cactul needles (yes, those like saquaro or barrel can screw up your tires badly), they will give you a brand new tire with no questions asked. Part of their policy. Has hppened to me quite a few times, and every time they've given me a new tire. Once it was vandalism (parked in not very nice part of town, and some punks slashed practicallly every set of tires on the parking lot)- Big O covered it regardless.
Look for All-terrain or other aggressive patterns. They are surprisingly quiet and ride confortably.
