88 cherokee steering collom problem

I bought my girlfriend an 88 cherokee for christmas. the blinker stopped working the day after xmas lol go figgure. Im trying to pull it appart to fix it but cant figgure out how to take it appart, i.e. I pulled the wheel off and found a rubber dust cover that I cant get off, the 4 way knob dosn't unthred, I broke dogon chrome ignition deal trying to remove the tumbeler... so needless to say Im at my wits end. Ive been workin on chevys and fords for yeas but this is much diff. than what Im used to. so any help would be appreciated

You broke the stick and a little piece is stil in the column? I drilled a tiny hole int the reaining piece, screwed in a parker, and pulled it. Push in a new one and fixed you are.
