Default Removing radio?

I have an 88 Jeep Cherokee and I'm trying to remove the radio. I removed the front part of the dash and I still can't get the dumb thing out. Its mounted from the inside somewhere and I don't want to tear the whole dash apart unless I have to. I bought this car a year ago and the guy that had it before me replaced the radio with an audiovox a while back. I don't know if he did something crazy or what. Any help is appreciated!

They might have put a strap from the back of deck to a mounting point behind the dash. If you can reach behind the deck feel for a screw somewhere in the middle. They might have also utilized the factory DIN mount which IIRC is just a clip that slides into a slot above the deck and a good hard pull forward would allow removal. If you can post some pics that might help.
