Default Cutting up a 1988 Cherokee 33"?

Ive had an 88 Cherokee limited 4.0 for a while now(meaning to make a wheeler, legal).
im planning on cutting alot of body out, does anyone know what the maximum size tire that would fit so it doesnt rub the inside of the tire, WIthout a Lift, im thinking after cutting fender away i can get a away with a 33". iI would like to know before i take the time and money figuring it out.
Thank you to anyone that can help. im not to worried past that, as im planning a pretty full rebuild, including 305 and turbo 350, 37", ford 9 and so on, just wondering if i can get away with the 33's for now, I WILL CUT ANYTHING, just not structural/mechanical, in the end wheel wells wont be there.

Would like to know soon as i have a line on pro comp 33" for cheap. but NO try before i BUY.

Thanks all,
James

I would say no on the 33's and daresay 31's would be pushing it with no lift. In order to trim enough wheel well to fit you would have to cut back the pinch seams in the rear which hold the rear panels together. The back does not allow much room for trimming and the front not much more with pinch seams at the back also. Thats also with the stock wheel offset, on my 4 Xj's with 3" lifts they all rubbed with 31's but my wheels were not factory.
