| | 91 XJ idea's ???? I came across a 91 XJ Sport with 4.0 HO, $300.00. This thing is in pretty good shape, 200k miles with little valve noise, starts right up, needs the basic tune up and tires. I am just wandering if this is worth building for the trail or not. The unibody makes me wonder if I should just stick with the CJ-5. Are the axles even worth keeping in this thing with 35's. I started to look at other options but I thought I would get your opinions on building this for the trail or the road????

| | For $300 how could you go wrong?
The XJ can be built into a very capable trail rig but I think it is much better as a multi use vehicle. Your 91 most likely has the Dana 35c (c-clip) rear axle and the front vacuum disco Dana 30 (unless it has the Select Trac part time/full time 4wd transfercase). So that would limit your tire size to 32's, unless you upgrade the axles.
In stock form, like mine is, it is a decent off roader but not for real seroius stuff. Good Luck!!
