Does anyone know if the sending units are the same size in all gas tanks they used in the Cherokees? The reason I ask is I'm researching into building a 3.4L with the new style aluminum heads and the FI that goes with it. 2000+ heads and injection. I figure that the sending unit for the 4.0L with the fuel pump may produce enough pressure for the system I propose to use. If the sending units are the same size (doubtfull, but I can hope) then I can just replace sending units rather than have to buy an entire new gas tank. Thanx for any help you can offer. NORM

I recall that when I was considering a 3.4 swap into my old 86 XJ, there was an aftermarket electric fuel pump that mounted in the engine compartment that supplied the right fuel pressure for the TBI 3.4L. I was thinking of using the in tank pump for the TPI. I want that sending unit because I'd think it would have a return line. I'm wanting to use a 3.4 out of a 93-95 F body and the heads on up from a 2000+ 3.4. These heads are aluminum and are supposed to have supperior flow characteristics and have larger valves as well. Thanx for the help though.
