Borla and Banks make a high quality SS header for the 4.0. I have the Banks on my 98. Hedman and Hooker also make a replacement IIRC one of the two have a JET coated unit (but they have a proprietary name for the coating) but the price almost $900 is IMO ridiculous. The Banks and Borlas go for just under $400 =/- shipping. Ebay has some chinese made stuff that can be had for as lil as $50 but I can't vouch for the quality beyond what I was told by a parts guy at a speed shop. He said he bought and installed one of those on his daughter's XJ and thought it wasn't a bad unit...
I don't know of anyone manufacturing an aftermarket intake.

I've got an Edelbrock header on my 94 and it works well and was pretty easy to install (no mods, just bolt up)
