I am sure I replaced the hose,s and if I remember right the parts store said that they don,t make hose,s with the wire in them no more. But I will check that today.
As for the fans they both are working I think ok. The one on the right side {facing the jeep} comes on when I turn on the key. I will check for the roar also on the other one.
But like Kraby says maybe I am over analyzing.
p/s when I say it don't get hot it don,t even smell hot when I pull it into the garage.
I have also put the little bars in the hinges to raise the hood a tad.
Thanks

[Never trust dashes gauges to read acurately, they are merely guides for the general ignorant masses, if you want to know true engine temp, pop the hood and shoot it with a thermal gun, that will give you a much more acurate idea of whats going on.]
I ignore all my dash gauges. I aint ignorant, why, just the other day, me and the misses went toolin around the country-side, and the oil gauge light came on,,,I ignored it. Then my temp gauge went into the 'red zone'...I ignored that too. Then the "no Gas" light went on...I ignored it. But when the "no Beer" gauge lit up...damn, I knew it was time to go back home...I aint ignorant.....(Just playin wit ya Krabby).....

Are you sure your system is ciculating? you may have a clog in your heater core.

Well I turned on the heater today to check it out and it worked just fine blew hot air till I had to turn it off.
I checked the manual and held the lower hose and rev. the engine and could feel the pressure like the manual said. But it didn't feel as hot as the upper hose did. Is this normal? Should not both hose feel about the same as far as heat?. Thanks everybody..
Hey Fixer definitely don't run out of...

It's what the radiator is supposed to do. Cool down the coolant, so it's working.

Hi Everybody: Just a little info. on my overheating XJ.
I replaced the themosat today and let it run for about 1 hr. and it never got past 200. but here is the kicker.
As posted I replaced my closed system with a open system and ran the overflow to the original closed system bottle and everything seem to be fine.
While I was filling it back up with Anti freeze I noticed that the little tube that comes off of the neck of the rad.and goes to the overflow bottle ""WAS NOT OPENED" I had to take a drill and drill out the tube so that the coolant can get to where it is supposed to go.
stupid is as stupid does........
