Welp I'm going to stick up for the liberty. See I'm a "Toledo Boy" where they are built and while I've been doing my engineering coops I've been to a few places where the components are being built, including TRW where they are assembling the whole front suspension. I must say that the components appear to be built quite well. Even though it is IFS it is still a Jeep through and through. I personally think that an IFS suspension vehicle is a good move for Jeep. The whole industry is going that way. If Jeep is to survive in todays markets than SOME (DEFINATELY not a tj or anything along it's lines, and don't get me wrong I in no way think a truck should be IFS) of its vehicles needs to change with the trends.
"Change is inevitable, if you can't adapt then things will change without you".
That goes for people, processes, and yes even Jeeps.
My 2 cents.

AACCHH !!! that pic came from a unofficial rollover test. go to Jeeps Unlimited's liberty board and you will see that people do take their KJ's offroad.Check out Liberty4All's post "rollover pic's ouch" for a pic of a Liberty rolled on the trail. i take mine offroad every chance I get. A lot of us are lifting 'em, bigger tires, fenderwell mods, rock rails etc...ad nauseaum.Don't knock it until you try it. the KJ is NOT the end of jeepdom as we know it regardless of what the chicken litle types are spouting these days.IFS may not ever win a rock crawling championship but for most general offroading/ trail use it will get you there and back
Signed

Ok. Guilty. I posted that pic to the mid-size board a few months back...sorry, it just seemed funny at the time.
The rollover test has been quite hushed, and I'm still waiting to see if the press does anything about it. All of you remember unintended acceleration (turns out Road and Track filmed people pushing the wrong little euro pedal with big american feet on video-but the apology was very quiet after about taking Audi out of the market), the CJ-5 of course, the Suzuki Samurai, et al...
The fact is, I would recommend a liberty in a moment to my parents, friends, etc., that I know are going to use it for daily driving, fishing, mild off-road, camping, etc...
So, how about a clicky link to Jeep's Unlimited's forum for us, masked stranger?

Sounds like another bad dealer to me. I don't think all DC dealers operate this way but I'm gonna email the dealer i bought mine from and get him to respond via email as far as their official stance is on this type of claim. I'll,let you know if and when I get a response.
