My sentiments are in line with piaa's. The IFS in Jeeps was tried before, in early 60's Waggies. I guess then that the technology just wasn't up to it. Perhaps the Liberty's system will prove to be the threshold breaker offroad that the XJ's unibody was in the 1980s.

I'm glad to hear that the Liberty is at least as or more capable offroad as the other competitors...afterall, it is a Jeep and it has a proud heritage to live up to. As for the front clip, well beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Would any of us XJ owners trade some capability for some prettier lines? I vote no on that one!!

Well, to be honest, back when this new format started up on ORC in Sept. 1999, our Mid Sized Forum was pretty quiet and then most of the posters were other 4x4 owners curious about the XJ/MJ and ZJ. The only two original XJ owner posters from that era are Andytron and myself. To pass the time, Andy and I spent a lot of time visiting the SWB Board; wasn't much happening over there on the Mid Sized then. That's all changed now and it will probably be so for the Liberty Board.

I still read almost every post on all the Jeep related boards. I know you still visit the SWB board too Jim. LOTS of good knowledge and ideas around here. I used to visit the Dodge and Ford boards too. Now they have to much action for me. Or I don't have enough time. I do still visit the IHC board on ocasion. As a matter of fact I'm going there next!
