| | Beware before you buy a liberty
I thought I would post some information that I experience first hand with a jeep liberty and a Ford f150 2wd single cab short bed. I was going back to auburn on highway 78, and witnessed a wreck involving the two vehicles mentioned above. the truck (which was the worst crash ratings of any vehicle that size for that year) did amazingly well and the baby was fine, but the driver was leaning over the baby so when the airbag went off it snapped his neck but he will live, but the jeep liberty, when i first happened upon it i thought it was a minicooper, it was so tiny, the engine had been smashed up into the main cabin and killed the driver and passenger instantly, like the steering wheel had been pushed into the roof, picture a liberty with no engine bay anymore and that engine bay was in the cab now,. it jeep had rolled and the woman in the back was alive but again crushed. to this day, i will never buy a liberty due to its front crash instability and first hand experience trying to pull people from them.

So you are basing your decision on one extreme incident? The Liberty has the highest safety rating in it's class. You need to gather some more information bub.

the f150 has the worst safety rating in its class and year, was totally stock and only 2wd, single cab, short bed, so weight was not on its side either, but it slammed the front and damaged only the front drivers fender so after only a bumper and corner fiberglass and new steering components on that side, it wil lbe drivable again,
the liberty didnt look so hot, as it was as describd above.
bottom line is that the rock bottom worst for that year destroyed one of the best of that year. it was not an extreme accident, the driver lost attention and drifted to the other oncoming side of the road and hit the liberty head on, now i know its still a lotta speed doubling involved, the nonetheless, the engine shot up into the main compartment where the passengers were instead of doing what its supposed to do with the new jeep's flex points and just tear away and bend downwards.
but still interested in what youve gotta say, lemme know, ill keep an eye out on this post

Any I repeat, any, car truck etc., can be rated bad or good and do the opposite in a crash. Look at the Benz that princess D died in. Yes, buy for safety but do not expect a miracle in every crash. Been in three bad ones, seat belts saved me in all three.
