I too am a die-hard Toyota fan. With almost 200,000 miles on my 3.0V6 1991 4Runner I'm looking at options. I have considered trying to find a diesel to swap in. I've also considered rebuilding the stock engine. But I want more torque. I run 32BFGM/T's with 4.56 gears and auto tranny and the engine is now too weak to stay in overdrive above 55mph. With the rising cost of fuel, 15mpg doesn't cut it when you drive 100-200 miles a week. What kind of aftermarket support is there for the Liberty? (bumpers, lockers, etc.) Even if I kept the truck mostly stock for now, a doubling of fuel economy would be great while still being able to mildly wheel offroad for camping, surf trips, etc.

I recently bought a 2.5CRD with 5 speed manual transmission; I find the gearbox very noisy, especially when accelerating in 2nd and 5th. Does your Cherokee suffer the same?

Default 06 Liberty CRD towing brake controller

We have a family purchased new 2006 CRD that my daughter now drives to high school. Her grandfather purchased it new in AZ & it has about 80K on it. It has every option I am aware of except the sun roof which included towing package. However it did not include electric brake controller which was added later. The controller was hard wired in & at some point 2 lights have been showing up on dash for traction control & braking. They cycle in & out for no apparent reason. I have searched & had others search but have not been able to find a direct harness plug in brake controller set up. Does anyone have any info regarding this or the lights on dash. We have scoured the owners manual but does not give much info?
