advice on 85 grand waganeer - Off-Road Forums & Discussion Groups

I have a chance to buy an 85 grand waganeer for $1200. Its a 6cyl,auto trans
all power,cruise,tilt and air.Body in fair shape.Has the usual 258 oil leaks and
carb problems.I own a 86 CJ7,but I dont know much about these waganeers.
Is this a good buy or not.

258 is prety anemic for that size jeep. try this place next:

I think that it has a 208 tranfer case.
We have one of these and it not a bad truck .
You will have to drive it and see if you can live
with it. Ours does fine out here on the flats
but that it to the mountains and soom or all the
hills will make it lay down. 4Lo on the trails
and it does fine.
