Default No Brake Lights

New to this list. I have a 99 Cherokee. The brake lights do not work when the brake pedal is depressed. I have back up lights and rear tail lights. i have checked the fuses. I also have no fog lights. The fog lights have not worked for some time but the brake lights just stopped working today.

I would guess it's the switch, but damned if I know where it is on your '99. Try the guys on the midsize Jeep board.

I "think" the switch is mounted on a bracket near the top of the pedal. It presses on the front of the pedal and when you hit the brakes a plunger is released and a set of contacts closes and bang you have brake lights. Well you should anyway. All you gotta do is follow the brake pedal up under the dash and see if you can find the switch. It's either there or on the master cylinder push rod. But yeah you want to try the mid-size board.
