Default Heater blower motor

Does anyone know if the heater blower motor on a non A/C equipped J20 is repairable ie can it be disassembled and cleaned or repaired...or barring that does somebody offer an aftermarket version ie NAPA.

The heater fan is a common GM variant. Don't have the number handy but every NAPA store I've worked at had it in stock (think it was the same as a '72 Chev pickup but I bought mine over a year ago)

Default blower motor

hi carnuck...just a quick clarification..."The heater fan is a common GM variant"... around here we refer to the "fan" as the squirrel cage and the blower motor as a seperate item...hope you were referring to the electric motor. Thanks for your quick response mate...ttyl.

Talking injured squirell

Thats funny, LOL I too have same problem. ( J-2000 73 ) I'm sure if we disassemble it carefully & clean it up & little oil will be good to go.

Get all the spider webs and leaves out of them (BTW, there is a spot to clean out behind the fresh air vents in the kick panel that will rot the cab if not taken care of)

Our NAPAonline website shows BK# 655-1328 as the fan motor but I recall a different number that had the mounting plate and all in one intended for a Chev. It also blew much stronger (albeit a bit noisier too)

You might want to check out BJ's Off-Road - Full-Size Jeep Parts (Wagoneer, Grand Wagoneer, Full-Size Cherokee and J-truck) for OEM style ones.

UAP/Napa in Canada didn't have a listing so I went to the dealer with an original P/N from my parts book (old Jeep parts guy myself) and they found the number had super'd up, sooooo I ordered it. Haven't had a chance to compare it as the Jeep is in locked storage til this spring...keeping my fingers crossed.
