Aurora police were looking at the possibility that a pedestrian who was struck and killed by a motorist threw himself in front of the vehicle early Thursday.
Traffic investigators said they know who the victim was but were waiting to contact his relatives before they could release his name.
Witnesses said a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo was traveling southwest of Buckley Air Force Base, police said.
The man then appeared to throw himself in front of the Jeep, which hit the victim. He was taken to the Medical Center of Aurora, where he died of his injuries, police said.
