Front end shudder
Hi All. I've got a 96' Jeep Cherokee. I recently began to get a shudder in the front end hitting ruts, pot holes and expansion joints on bridges. Most of the time the shudder goes away within 3 seconds or so, a few times it hasnt until Ive slowed down, but its a pretty intense shudder felt in the wheel. I've replaced the track bar, steering damper, all sway bar bushings, front and rear shocks. Wheel balance and alignment have both been checked twice at 2 different shops and everyone as well as myself cant find anything visably loose or to have any play in it. Every once and a while it does seem to wander a tiny bit. I'm begining to wonder if it could be ball joints but I would think I'd be getting a popping or clunking noise which I am not. Has anyone every heard of this happening before? Any way to check ball joints and where should I look for play in the joint {stud end or grease fitting end??} Thanks for any help or ideas!!!
