Default 87 jeep wagoneer limited edition transmission prob

I have a 87 Jeep wagoneer limited edition. (4 litre straight 6) The rig will not shift to 2nd gear for a very long time ... say 70km/hr changed the transmission to a good one (which I know was workin properly) still same prob. I am gettin impatient now ... I wanna take this puppy out for a spin !!! CAN ANYBODY HELP ME ...

Check to make sure that the vacuum line that runs to your tranny is not unhooked or plugged. If your tranny is not getting vacuum, it won't shift at the right time. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the advice ... I actually just figured it out put on a new throttle positioning sensor about an hour ago PROBLEM SOLVED rig is workin like a charm few minor adjustments to make ... maybe some future posts for advice on these !!! Thanks _ Candy

Yea that TBS (70$) drove nutts till i learn how to check it and found that it had a dead stop that makes the puter go into limp mode. Hey e-mail me some time if ya need any help with your electrical problems and stuff and ya never know if you may know something i dont also.i have the same truck and they are so hard to find info for that make and yearat least for me
