It looks like another in a long line of "Jeeps" that were never intended to leave the pavement. The "Electronic Limited Slip Differentials (ELSD)" sound interesting. Reliability of electronics is always an important issue when you are miles from a road that a tow truck can handle.
A lot of engine for a small vehicle!
I guess its value depends upon what you want it for. Me, it would get scratched up in a hurry and those plastic bumpers just wouldn't cut it.

I checked out the link. I thought they were cool overall. I would like to see some more retro heritage in the body panels. Did you check the weight on these rigs ? Over 5000 lbs in the V-8 versions!

Just in time for our $3 gas! Chrysler hits another infield fly!
For years we have been asking chryco to build a new full size Jeep. While Chevy, Ford, Dodge, Caddilac, Lincoln have been selling them like hotcakes, Chryco refused. Now that gas has gone sky high, they bring one out. Great timing!

I have an open mind about these. I think that they will be competitive and it doesn't seem like gas prices are hurting SUV sales (yet) |

they do have a deisel grand cherokee option this year, and in the liberty. 2006 will boast a deisel in the wrangler. but if you want to buy an 80,000 dollar suv buy 2 suburbans
or maybe for a bit more you would buy the G 500 mercedes that it looks almost identical too. Daimler Chrysler remember guys.

I had the Day off so i decided to check one of the new jeeps out. Let's just say that I think metal is starting to be replaced by plastic. I went up there with no intention in driving one but was talked into it even though i told them i couldn't buy one. So what the hell i drove the top of the line and it truly sucked. O and did i mention the sales guy broke it when we got back. I was asking why was a plastic tray where the O **** bar should go and he said "that is what the side grab is for" and jerked the plastic pin's off and the grab bar moulding poped off. I started laughing and couldn't stop. I was worth the crapy test drive just to see that.
I can only say that the future for a full size jeep will be dead before it even get's off the ground. O and the rearview is useless if you have the third seat headrest up so parking and backing up is an adventure in it's self

Lots-o-plastic + gas guzzler + monster on the road + piss-poor drivability + excessive weight = hit with soccer moms, 45 y.o. women trying to hang on to their youth (you know, a 25 y.o. body and a 50 y.o. face wearing the little jogging suits and Reboks at Dillards) and city guys who thinks it will show how rugged they really are.
I sure it has some good points but I believe they will be overshadowed by the bad. Looks like a Mercedes and a Hummer got drunk and had a kid.
