Drum to Disc Conversion

Hi all...Anyone out there done a Drum Brake to Disc Break conversion before? I just bought a 78 Scout II, and the breaks are the first project. Anyone done this before?

Re: Drum to Disc Conversion

A 78 should have a disk brake dana 44 front axle. If it has a drum brake front then it is probably a dana 30. IIRC, the dana 30 and 44 are identical from the knuckles out so you just swap outers on them.

If you are talking about a rear disk brake conversion then you can find info here: http://www.binderbulletin.org/faq/1.htm#10

The link to Jim Weed's site doesn't work, it needs a tilde instead of a dash. Here is the link: http://www.off-road.com/~jweed/

You can also find tons of IH info here:
