Default beellhousing help??? new guy

i need a bellhouing that bolts from a 350 to a sm465, are they all the same??? where can i find one and how does a chevy clutch, and etc work? hydralic? or manual????? please help!!!!!1!

I'm not completly sure of this, but i think all chevy bell housings are the same. That is the great thing about chevy. if you want to be sure check your local junk yards. They are loaded with old 2WD work trucks and many usually have the housing still in them. The clutch is cable operated. I seen a kit in Jegs that would convert it to hydraulic... hope this helps...

There were two types of clutches in front of the sm465, in the mid 80s they switched to hydraulic, before then it had a mechnical linkage (no cable). My 83 has the linkage.

A chevy/gmc bellhousing from that era is a chevy/gmc bellhousing is a chevy/gmc bellhousing. That is to say, they're all the same.
