Default Oil in Coolant

Hey guys wife got Suburban hot, thermostate was not opening... When I opened her up I found oil in water, but no water in oil... Its running good, not rough at all... I heard from a buddy that the intake gaskets on these are problamatic, I would think water in oil but not oil in water... Any ideas?

Oh yeah 1997 3/4 ton suburaban 350... Thanks

I'd lean towards a head issue. either a cracked head, or a damaged head gasket, perhaps a warped head. There are no oil passages i nthe intake, so a cracked instake wouldn't result in cross contamination. I doesn't take much to pull the intake and ehads and re-gasket the top half of the engine. As long as the ehads are off, you may want to take them to a head shop to have them inspected for warping.
