| | theftlock system
a buddy of mine with a newer blazer had his positive terminal corrode away on him (uprise huh). he got a new battery and replaced it while i was out of town. well he didnt de-activate the theft lock system adn he didnt supply an alternat power source while swapping the batts.
do any of you know the default code for a GM head unit? or perhaps how to bypass it. apparently it was only allowing him three entries, and then there is an hour lockout period wherehe cant enter codes. and its smart too. disconnign the batt again and then re-conecting doesnt re-set the one hour counter.
so if any of you have any thoughts feel free to share.
thanks

This isn't any help for you now, but for everybody else out there. Get a "memory saver"!!!! You can even make one yourself. All you need is an old cigarette lighter "power plug-in" and a 9 volt battery snap terminal. Plug a 9 volt battery on it, plug it into your cigarette lighter and it will hold your clock, station presets, theftlock, and on some cars "idle learn".

Assuming it HASN'T been changed, try the last four digits of the VIN number on the vehicle.
Am dealing with the same issue, except mine ended up with intermittented car alarm triggers and my interior lights coming on depending at what angle the truck is.
Not fun.
