Default need to reseal oil pan

my oil pan seal is leaking a little (a little being that i lost 1/2 a qt of oil in a day). do i need to drop the front diff to do this? the Haynes manual says thats necessary, but it doesnt seem like it. ($%#^@#$@ IFS....)

you might be able to jack the engine up to get it to clear, just loosen the mounts and use a hoist to pick it up a few inches

if a leaky oil pan seal is the worst thing that's happened in your life, you're living quite well! [img]images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img] [img]images/graemlins/40BEER.gif[/img]

you could try tightening the bolts first to see if that seals it up... are you sure it's the pan seal? unfortunately, rear main seals are more common places for leaks that fast [img]images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img] sometimes it's hard to tell exactly where it's coming from, and boy does it suck to replace something and still have the leak [img]images/graemlins/mad.gif[/img] [img]images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]

lol, no, the truck is the least of my worries...

i think its the oil pan, cause i dont see much oil on the block, but hey, the way things are goin, it probably is the rear mainseal. im really hopin its not. anyway, its goin to the shop, cause i dont have the time right now to deal with it. [img]images/graemlins/smirk.gif[/img] anyway, i'll stop fussin about it, but thanks for the tips.
