problems with 4x4

i keep popping fuse in the dash for my 4x4... 89 z71.. 4x4 in the floor... i replaced the accuator an it still pops fuses.. any suggestions????

using an ohm meter, unplug actuator, check for short to ground starting at fuse box, possibly where harness goes through fire wall? electrical gremlins can be a nuisance to find. stay calm. try to get a wiring schematic, and a wire loom diagram. be systematic about it. don't give up.

I agree with stump! You have live touching ground. You could unplug your actuator & see if you still pop fuses. Disconnect your battery, Grab an ohm meter & connect from the live wire at the actuator to ground. You should not get a reading. If you do, follow the wire back & look for a melted coat, cut coat or anywhere that it might be rubbing on the body of your vehicle.
